Visual management uncovers problems and empowers collaboration and learning.

Implementation of visual management as a management practice creates transparency for the organization to see the work and see the issues. The structured alignment of “help chains” enables effective and rapid realignment of support to resolve issues quickly and streamline decisions. Managing the dynamics of an ever-changing development system can be extremely difficult with widely diverse and dispersed teams only complicating the effort further. For globally dispersed teams in particular, the transparency of product development is a challenge. For these situations, we have seen visual management practices via electronic format to be particularly effective in facilitating collaboration.
