Pierre is currently President and CEO of Jinmag Inc. a consulting, management and investment company, and remains closely involved with aviation and aerospace developments in Canada and internationally. Previously, Pierre was President and CEO of Air Canada from 1984-1990, having held senior positions in operations, marketing, strategic planning and technical services. As CEO of Air Canada, he led the privatization of the airline. He subsequently served as Director General and CEO of the International Air Transport Association, transforming IATA into the acknowledged leader of international civil aviation and a major supplier of products and services for the industry. He was a Board member of Scotiabank and of its Executive Committee. Pierre also served as Chairman of the Board of THALES Canada – a subsidiary of the international THALES Group – a leading supplier of hi-tech systems to commercial aviation, rail and the military in Canada and offshore.
Pierre has a BSc in Physics and Maths from Concordia University, a Faculty of Management Award from McGill University, and studied Advanced Statistics at NYU. He also holds honorary degrees from Concordia University, McGill University and the University of Quebec.
